Today’s students have their
eyes stuck on the monitors of their computers, most especially on their phone
screens.
Because of the advancement in technological development, students have become too dependent on
these devices. But we all know that gadgets were actually made to make
education more convenient.
Cloud storage are ideal for busy students because
they offer many unique benefits that will keep even the most frenzied student
organized. Not only that, but you can get a small cloud server for less than
$20 a month, which allows you to stay within your budget.
These are just a few benefits that students will
see when they use the cloud.
Although it
was a very long time ago I can still remember the various means employed by my
fellow students to cheat in their examinations. These all seem rather primitive
now. Writing things on your hands and wrists, recording notes inside your
pencil case and peering over the shoulder of another student were pretty much
all you had at your disposal. The modern education system has thrown up more
ways to circumvent the system and this is one of many reasons why I think the old
way was best.
There is no doubt that the role
of the internet has a huge role to play in the delivery of quality learning.
The demand pressure of the largest high school graduation class in 2008 (3.2
million graduating seniors) on traditional brick and mortar institutions as
well as the need of corporations to supplement training with
"just-in-time" training modules in order to meet job expectations,
has led to great innovation and advancement in the use of online learning
environments for course delivery. The trick in this ever growing dependency on
online learning and management systems is developing learning that captures the
imagination and keeps the attention of the learner long enough to meet the
measurable learning objectives of the instructor.
As all
teachers know, the amount of paperwork that piles up on your desk is
overwhelming. It seems the assignments come in at a faster rate than you can
grade, record, and return them. Grading can
easily become an obligation, a nuisance and even a dreaded task. This does not
have to be the case.
A
successful educational technology plan requires a clear educational vision that
addresses the needs of the modern day learners. It needs to incorporate aholistic
educational approach that will guide the direction for technology expenditures
and use. It needs to be cost-effective and sustainable and at the same time
highly effective. It has to address a vision for its use. It is often felt that
schools are still delivering education that has now become obsolete and lag
behind in preparing students to advance and progress in the 21st
century. They need to integrate educational technology into learning models
that address 21st century needs, for which they need to create
effective educational technology plans that are also affordable for them.
Real-time collaboration has become an essential
component of working and learning online, since these tasks are never complete
without collaboration.
There are many times, when collaborating online in
real-time becomes a necessity to keep people involved, make them work together
and to keep teams focused to accomplish business goals. With real-time collaboration
you get the opportunity to work with people located in different parts of the
world at the same time on the same document and see the changes in an instant.
There are numerous tools available for the purpose.
Google+ is the
currently trending social media platform which is being exceedingly used by
students, educators and other professionals for a variety of purposes.
Technology
is needed in every classroom regardless of what type of classroom it is. Every
type of class uses some sort of technology to advance their students’ knowledge
and speed up the learning process. Technology is used more in a special education
classroom than in any other classroom setting because of all the different
types of students and their learning needs that need to be met in order to make
education successful for them. There are different types of disabilities that special
needs students suffer from. A huge percentage of students suffer from
specific learning disabilities which can include learning impairments in
Reading, Math and other subjects. Another large percentage of them suffer from
speech or language impairments, others suffer mental retardation, emotional
disorders and hearing or visual impairments.
Sergiovanni (1991)
defined administration as a process of working with and through others to
accomplish school goals efficiently. The definition itself indicates that the administration is a social act
and it is followed by a group of people to connect and collaborate with others
in order to perform planning, organizing, leading and controlling.
Administrators play a significant role in an organization’s development.
Educational leadership is also concerned with tasks such as planning,
coordinating, directing, defining objectives, supporting the work of others and
evaluating performance. To make this guide more convenient, I’d like to
distinguish administration and educational leadership.
